Types of drives for rotary atomizers

Direct drive This is the most modern and effective type of drive for rotary atomizers. A high frequence motor with variable rpm will drive the rotary atomizer by a special coupling. Maximum rpm are 60.000 1/min. The rpm is controlled and regulated by a frequency converter. Depending on the maximum power, additional heat exchangers for motor cooling are necessary. Belt drive This is one of the most popular types of drive for rotary atomizers. The rotary atomizer will be powered by a set of two or four belts at rpm of 7.000 1/min up to 18.000 1/min. The rpm can be regulated a little bit by a frequency converter.
